We see savings between 30-50% compared to WEBP, with comparable quality in text but slightly less in games (duller).

We probably want to upgrade next year as it’s only recently (May 2023) that all browsers gained AVIF support.

Sway desktop: 167 → 101 KB (61%)
wish-button-emulated: 4.4 → 2.9 KB (66%)
mdn-box-sizing-tip: 23 → 14 KB (61%)
assessment-art: 51 → 41 KB (80%)
